About / Minna Sophia Manu
I grew up surrounded by art, portraiture and family histories preserved on film. My grandfather is an artist and photographer; my mother’s early life—and later my own childhood—was documented with extraordinary care. Long before I understood its rarity, I knew what it meant to see a life made tangible through photographs.
That inheritance became a lifelong practice. From darkroom work and formal studies in photography and retouching, to years mastering studio light, I developed the technical foundation that now allows me to work instinctively in the elements. Today, I photograph maternity and motherhood as a meeting of fashion, sculpture and feeling—creating images that honour not only how a woman looks, but who she is becoming.
